The heartbeat of prayer at the centre of our life is supported and encouraged in a number of ways.
You are invited to use the church and the Dick Sheppard Chapel located in the lower crypt for personal prayer and there is a prayer board in church where written prayers can be left which will be included in one our daily services.
The meditation group meets on every 2nd and 4th Tuesday evening of the month to practice contemplative meditation. Particularly if you live a busy life in this noisy world, you may feel a need for silence when you can respond to the invitation “Be still and know that I am God”. If you are interested in joining us, we would be delighted to welcome you. Contact Duncan Roberts via the parish office.
Silent Retreat, Quiet Days, and Retreats in Daily Life
We hold a silent retreat weekend every year in Lent as well as a regular pattern of quiet days and retreats in daily life, where we can find sacred space with God here at the heart of the city, and experience the companionship of being accompanied in our journey of prayer.
Every year the St Martin’s community produces a book of reflections, prayer and readings to inspire our journey of Advent.
To help you in your own prayer life here are some online resources for daily prayer to use at home, at work or as you journey through your day.
