“Skilfully and sumptuously scored…music as sensuous as any you will find
from a British composer” Edward Greenfield, The Guardian
This special concert marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of composer
William Lloyd Webber. The possessor of a remarkable melodic gift which he frequently allied with surprisingly ‘purple’ harmonies, he was a composer who knew exactly what he wanted to say and how to say it.

William Lloyd Webber wrote accessible and beautiful music in many different forms: vocal and instrumental, choral and organ, chamber and orchestral. This concert, with St Martin’s Voices directed by Andrew Earis, celebrates the breadth of his output, and features a special performance by his son, the cellist Julian Lloyd Webber.
