Zuzanna Basinska and Ada Maria Witczyk are both Master students and current scholars at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
They immediately found a rare musical and personal rapport and started playing together at the age of 13 while still studying in Poland where they both come from. They performed together in a number of concerts and artistic venues. They are rapidly establishing themselves as a unique ensemble, forging a reputation as exponents of underperformed chamber repertoire.
Ada Maria Witczyk made her solo orchestral debut at the age of 11 with Odeon Orchestra. In the following years she has performed in various concert venues such as Buckingham Palace, Royal Festival Hall, Barbican, St John’s Smith Square, National Portrait Gallery, Palazzo Pallavicini Rospigliosi, Gothenburg Concert Hall, NFM in Wroclaw, Poznan Philharmonic Hall and Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall amongst the others.
Ada gained a Bachelor’s degree studying violin with Itzhak Rashkovsky and Michal Cwizewicz as well as baroque violin with Catherine Martin at the Royal College of Music in London. She is currently in her first year of a MMus postgraduate degree studying violin with Philippe Honore and Levon Chilingirian and baroque violin with Simon Standage at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
Ada has won several prizes and awards in national and international violin competitions including first prize in Baroque Competition in Gorzow Wielkopolski and honourable mention in the Polish Forum of Young Instrumentalists.
Recently Ada was rewarded the “Star Award” by the Countess of Munster Musical Trust and The Belsize Leadership Bursary. She was also generously supported by The Henry Wood Trust, The Stephen Bell Charitable Trust, Grabowski Foundation and Anthony Edward Brookes Award.
Zuzanna Basinska gainer her Bachelor’s degree studying piano with Jerzy Sterczynski at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. She is currently in her first year of her MA degree studying piano accompaniment with Michael Dussek and James Baillieu at the Royal Academy of Music, thanks to the Benjamin Dale Award.
Zuzanna is a laureate of national and international competitions in Poland, Germany, Lithuania and France, playing solo as well as with a chamber group. She made her solo orchestral debut at the age of 17. She has also played for the Presidents of Poland, Hungary and the Ambassadors of Georgia.
