Hilary Cameron, Tom Hannah and Barbara Snow are three London-based professional musicians who form the backbone of Chico Chica. All three had known and worked with each other for many years but never as a trio or the five piece band, until one auspicious balmy July evening in 2010, when chance brought them together on what at first seemed an unremarkable, casual engagement.
Chico Chica is a five piece band playing a selection of self-composed songs and classic Brazilian and Latin American compositions. The music is approachable Jazz-Pop with a strong Latin and multi-lingual component. The debut album Melangerie was released in September 2011 which was widely acclaimed. The band continues to perform in various formats and guises and at many festivals and venues across the South East.
Chico Chica consist of Guitar, Trumpet & Vocals, Piano, Bass, Drums & Percussion. The group perform with style, humour and passion, using vocal harmonies and dazzling improvisation. The Chico Chica show has become one of the most entertaining jazz spectacles on the London scene.
