Caroline MacPhie completed her studies on the opera course at the Royal Academy of Music, following which she was awarded representation with the Young Concert Artists Trust.
Caroline’s operatic roles include Cleopatra Giulio Cesare (cover) for Opera North, Frasquita Carmen for Scottish Opera, Serpina La Serva Padrona for Opera Project, Nerone Agrippina for Cambridge Handel Opera Group and Vixen The Cunning Little Vixen for the Banff Centre, Canada. She recently performed in the premiere of Max Richter’s SUM, directed by Wayne McGregor, for Royal Opera House2 at the Linbury Theatre.
Caroline has performed extensively on the oratorio and concert platform with ensembles such as Hallé, Hanover Band, Philharmonia, Classical Opera Company and European Chamber Orchestra. She made her Wigmore Hall debut with duo partner Joseph Middleton in February 2011 and has also appeared at the Purcell Room, Cheltenham, Chichester, Oxford Lieder and Two Moors Festivals.
Current and future engagements include Despina Così fan tutte in Dubrovnik, a return to the Wigmore Hall under the auspices of the Kirckman Society, Mozart arias with the Northern Sinfonia at Ripon Cathedral and Grieg songs with the Northern Lights Orchestra at Cadogan Hall.
This lunchtime concert is FREE and no ticket is required. Lunchtime concerts last approximately 45 minutes and latecomers will be admitted to the church when there is a suitable break in the programme. A collection is taken at the end of the concert which goes towards the work of St Martin’s.
