Ensemble Eroica is a world-class platform for the promotion and development of musical talent. A leading UK-based orchestra for young classical musicians, the ensemble provides students and graduates from the UK’s leading conservatoires paid opportunities for continued professional exposure and experience. Each season EE members work with critically acclaimed soloists and conductors. The Current Jam series affords EE members regular chamber music and solo recital opportunities at interesting and intimate locations throughout London, such as Handel&Hendrix. The 2015-2016 orchestral season saw EE perform a three-concert series at Kings Place (supported by Bärenreiter and BBC Radio 3) as well as debuting at St Martin in the Fields.
Featured artists included esteemed Australian concert-pianist Leslie Howard, Philharmonia Orchestra Concertmaster Zsolt-Tihamér Visontay, Slovenian soprano Nika Gorič and the award winning Artesian Quartet.
Since its conception Ensemble Eroica has been commissioning work from leading young composers, developing a library of new material that it will feature throughout upcoming seasons. In the upcoming seasons EE will launch an annual London-based New Music Competition in support of young composers. Founded by Assistant Conductor of the Sydney Symphony and Georg Solti Competition Prize Winner, Toby Thatcher, the group continues to develop and challenge the London music scene with its vibrant and arresting performance style. Ensemble Eroica is generously supported by the Arts Council.
