As a graduate of the “Mozarteum“ in Salzburg (organ) and the University for music in Vienna (piano, musicology) he was awarded several times at international organ competitions, for example, at the International Franz Liszt-Competition (Budapest/Hungary 1978) and the Quadrennial Johann Sebastian Bach-Competition (Leipzig/Germany 1980). In 1986 he won the first prize for improvisation at the International Anton Bruckner-Competition (Linz/Austria).
Beside a recording with all toccatas of Johann Ernst Eberlin his last CD-recordings are produced with mdg-records in a series called “organ landscapes” and show historical instruments of Salzburg and Kärnten. Florian Pagitsch is a University Professor at the Ludwig van Beethoven Department of Piano and Harpsichord in Music Education/University for music and performing arts Vienna. He has performed more than 450 recitals in Festivals all over Europe, in Australia, China, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore and the USA. His last solo performances in concert-halls among others: Moskow/Tschaikowsky-Conservatorium, Christchurch/Town Hall, Hong Kong/Cultural Centre, Hull/City Hall and Bejing/National Centre of Performing Arts.
