Born in Sevilla, Macarena Martinez takes lessons at the same time in Germany, from Jorg Hoffman and she goes into Rotterdam Conservatorium, where she studies violin with Benzon Shamir, and chamber music with Daniels Quartet. Later she takes further training from Serguei Fatkouline, Rainer Hineck and Bretislav Novotny.
She has made records with the OJA for radio and TV; with the JONDE for CD and radio; with the Young Orchestra of France, for CD and radio as well. With this orchestras she travelled through Europe, playing in international renowned auditoriums. Also she has collaborated in the documentary film “The Master and hispupil” with the Young Rotterdam Orchestra and Valeri Gergiev.
She has collaborated with the Royal Symphony Orchestra of Sevilla, the Symphony Orchestra of Extremadura, the “Ensemble Nueva Música” and with the “Grupo Enigma” of Zaragoza.
At the age of 23 she won the post of violin teacher through public competition, becoming in this way civil servant. She combines her violin teaching with an intense music activity in Spain and abroad, having played as well as violin soloist with the “Orquesta Hispalense”.
She has recorded recently a CD solo violin works by Bach, Paganini, Ysaye and Prokofiev.
Juan Escalera is a well-known accompanist pianist in Andalucia. Born in Sevilla, he carries out his music studies in the Higher Music Conservatory getting the degree of Piano Teacher with the maximum marks. He takes further training in countries like Netherland, France, Switzerland or Russia, finishing these studies with Josep Colom at Alcalá de Henares University (Madrid).
He has got several diplomas and prizes in different Spanish National competitions, the last one in 2012 as the best accompanist pianist in the XI Concurso Nacional de Interpretación Intercentros. This has allowed him to give many concerts with a great success of public and critics.
In the last few years he develops his labour in the Higher Music Conservatory “Manuel Castillo”. Also, he collaborates in many courses all over Spain, as well as with the Maestranza Theatre and the Royal Symphonic Orchestra of Sevilla.
He combines all this with an intense work in duos with Miguel Romero, Alfonso Rubio, Juan Pedro Luna, Macarena Martínez or Israel Fausto Martínez among others. Also he collaborates sporadically with artists like Claude Delangle, Vincent David or Arno Bornakamp.
