Norah King began her training at the Royal Irish Academy of Music where she graduated with a First Class Honours BA in Music Performance under renowned teacher Dr. Veronica Dunne, followed by postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music under the tutelage of Elizabeth Ritchie. Further studies were taken at Cardiff International Academy of Voice; and English National Opera’s Opera Works. She holds a DipRAM, is a Concordia Foundation Artist and travelled to China where she performed with the Shanghai Opera Orchestra at the Shanghai Concert Hall. She is also a former Britten-Pears Young Artist, Samling and Bank of Ireland Millennium Scholar.
Norah performs across the UK and Ireland in opera and concert appearing in prestigious venues, such as the National Concert Hall, Dublin and Queen Elizabeth Hall, London. She has appeared several times with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra and broadcast live on RTÉ Lyric FM as well as recordings for BBC Radio 3’s In Tune, BBC Radio 4’s PM and BBC Radio Ulster. In opera she has sung roles with Lyric Opera Productions, Aldeburgh Music and English Touring Opera.
Yau Cheng earned both her Master and Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music (USA), under the tutelage of Emile Naoumoff. She was a student of Nancy Loo and Mimi Li in Hong Kong before pursuing higher education in the United States. Her studies have brought her to the Académie Internationalede Musique at Château de Rangiport (France) in 2008. Yau later continued her studies with Caroline Palmer at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London (UK), where she was enrolled in the Guildhall Artist Programme, gaining a Masters of Music in Piano Accompaniment with distinction.
Since relocating to the UK, she has performed in Bristol’s Colston Hall, City of London Festival, Winchester Chamber Music Festival, song recitals at Guildhall, and concerts at venues around London. Yau has also presented duo piano concerts in her native Hong Kong, where she appeared on Radio Television Hong Kong, Radio 4’s “Cantilena” with her duo partner.
