Ivor Setterfield Conductor
Trafalgar Sinfonia was founded in the early 90s by its Musical Director, Ivor Setterfield. Formerly known as the New London Soloists Orchestra, it has built a reputation as one of London’s most dynamic and accomplished ensembles. This extremely versatile group now has an international following and has performed a diverse repertoire at most of London’s major venues including the Royal Albert Hall, the Barbican Centre, the Southbank Centre and Cadogan Hall.
Trafalgar Sinfonia continues to present a successful season of concerts at the famous Trafalgar Square church, St Martin-in-the-Fields. It has recently appeared at Kings Place in the prestigious TEDxObserver event.
In addition to its reputation as an outstanding solo ensemble, Trafalgar Sinfonia has close links with choral music and regularly appears in an accompanying role with a number of choirs.
Trafalgar Sinfonia has recorded two CDs, the first with New London Singers, featuring the music of Vivaldi. Most recently it has recorded a selection of English String Music including the Vaughan Williams Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis.
