The doors to St Martin-in-the-Fields Church will be thrown open to all for a FREE (booking essential)“taster” performance celebrate the launch of Tasmin Little’s new CD Partners in Time (BIS-CD-1744) with the pianist John Lenehan.
Partners in Time continues Tasmin’s vision to reach new audiences through her pioneering internet project ‘The Naked Violin’, in which she released a recording of solo violin works in January 2008 and is still available on her website.
This free performance is very much in keeping with the spirit of her original project and will provide a whistle-stop tour of some of the works for violin and piano featured on the recording, illustrating the chronological development of the relationship between the two instruments. These works show the ways that composers have fallen in love with, and responded to, this partnership. Tasmin’s partner on this journey through musical history is the acclaimed British pianist John Lenehan.
The performance lasts 30 minutes
