Trio Arion, Elixir Trio, St James Quintet, Lunar Quartet

Trio Arion
Edith Escudero Gracia - piano, Shelly Ezra - clarinet, Nika Brnic - cello

Established in Lubeck, the trio including musicians from Mexico, Israel and Slovenia has performed accross Germany and since June 2009 have been members o fth eYehudi Menuhin Foundation "Live Music Now" scheme. The trio will present a programme of works by Ferdinand Ries and Nino Rota.

Elixir Trio
Leslie Boulin Raulet - violin, Marine Gandon - viola, Michael Tafforeau - cello

Three french musicians with a passion for chamber music formed the Elixir Trio in 2007. Having studied for two years with the Chilingirian Quartet at the Royal College of Music, they are now completing their training with the Ysaye Quartet at the Paris Conservatoire. They will perform works by Schubert and Françaix.

St James Wind Quintet
Renate Sokolovska - flute, Suzanne Thorn - oboe, Ellen Deverall - clarinet, Karen Geoghegan - bassoon, Nicholas Ireson - horn

Winners of the Ensemble Prize at the 2009 Royal Overseas League Music Competition the St James Quintet was formed in 2007 of students fromt he Royal Academy of Music for a performance at St James Palace for the awarding of the Queens Anniversary Medal. The quintet has appeared at the BBC Proms, the Southbank and were recently appointed Leverhulme Chamber Music Fellows at the RAM. They make their Wigmore Hall debut later this year. The quintet will perform works by Reicha and Ligeti.

Lunar Saxophone Quartet
Joel Garthwaite - Soprano, Hannah Riches - Alto, Lewis Evans - Tenor, Lauren Hamer - Baritone

The Lunar Sax Quartet has a passion for new music and their performances span a range of occasions and venues from Bryn Terfel's Faenol Festival to recitals at established chamber msuic venues and work with BBC Radio Wales. Members of the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now scheme the ensemble will perform works by Graham Fitkin and Bartok.

This lunchtime concert is FREE and no ticket is required. Lunchtime concerts last approximately 45 minutes and latecomers will be admitted to the church when there is a suitable break in the programme. A collection is taken at the end of the concert which goes towards the work of St Martin's.
