The OKS Association
(Former pupils of The Kings School, Canterbury)
The King's School, Canterbury is well known for the quantity and quality of its musical activities. At the school there are four choirs, a symphony orchestra, many chamber groups and an active jazz club. Because King's Canterbury strives to develop excellence in all levels of ability many pupils go on to read Music at universities and conservatories and others win Oxbridge choral and organ awards. Pupils are regular performers in the National Youth Orchestra and the national youth choir. A number have gone on to very successful musical careers as composer, conductors, instrumentalists and singers.
OKS Musician's have in recent years performed in Canterbury Cathedral, and King's College Chapel, London. In 2003 over 150 OKS
Musicians returned to the School to perform in a Concert for the Queen's Jubilee.
