A day of Beethoven, Barber, Revolution and Romance at St Martin-in-the-Fields

News St Martin – Talking Points

Thursday 11 July 2013

Tuesday 16 July promises a truly memorable day of live music at St Martin-in-the-Fields with two exciting programmes by leading performers.

At the 1.00pm Free Lunchtime Concert, eminent pianist Julian Jacobson performs two Beethoven Sonatas (op 7 and op 109) as part of the Beethoven Piano Society of Europe Series. This is a fantastic preview concert for the Beethoven Marathon on 15 October, when Julian will take over St Martin’s for the day to perform all 32 Beethoven Piano Sonatas back-to-back.

Then at 7.30pm the Croft Orchestra with Clare Howick (violin) and William Kunhardt (conductor) present Beethoven and Barber: Revolution and Romance. They will be performing Beethoven’s thrilling Egmont Overture and Symphony No 7, as well as Barber’s haunting Violin Concerto op 14 and Adagio for Strings.

Book tickets for the evening concert online now, or call us on 020 7766 1100 to book through the Box Office.
