With only one vote in it, the Quintabile Ensemble’s spirited performance of music by Praetorius, Henry VIII, Wood and Pirchner won them this year’s Audience Prize.

A special thank you also to the Albany Piano Trio, whose rendition of Beethoven’s ‘Ghost’ Trio Op 70 brought many in the audience to their feet.

St Martin-in-the-Fields would also like to make a special thank you to last year’s winners the Jubilee Quartet, who returned to perform movements 1 and 4 from Haydn’s Quartet in G op 77 No 1.

After a fantastic evening of outstanding performances by these phenomenal young ensembles, it is clear that the future of chamber music in the UK is bright and exciting.
