Living in Prophetic Hope: a workshop for the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia

News St Martin – Talking Points

Tuesday 6 May 2014

On Saturday 17 May 2014 St Martin’s hosts ‘Living in Prophetic Hope: Moving from Fear and Hopelessness to Spirit-led Action in Deeply Homophobic Communities’.

This workshop prays through and with the stories of individuals who have tapped into prophetic hope in the midst of homophobic oppression. It focuses on the story of the martyred Ugandan organizer David Kato, who, with his religious and secular friends, resisted the anti-gay witch-hunts in his own country; and it focusses on the stories of local panelists from Africa and Britain, who have fought for LGBTI and immigrant justice here in London.

You are welcome to join us (though spaces are limited) by registering at We also ask for your prayer tomorrow, for the success of our workshop and for all those who will be bravely be facing the challenges of homophobia and the call to live lives of Prophetic hope. If you can commit to praying for us on Saturday for five to ten minutes during the day please let us know by emailing so that we can share your name with our participants, and so that we can pray for you too.
