Sound of St Martin’s Autumn Festival

News St Martin – Talking Points

Monday 19 October 2015

This autumn, we are excited to launch our first Sound of St Martin’s Autumn Festival, which takes place in November around Remembrance Day.

The centrepiece of the festival is a special performance of Mozart’s Requiem and Haydn’s Nelson Mass, in which a number of our resident choral ensembles including the Choral Scholars of St Martin’s, members of our flagship music education programme, and the Choir of St Martin-in-the-Fields, our leading voluntary choral ensemble, join forces with the renowned Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields for an evening of beautiful music making.

The festival also includes a rich variety of other evening concerts, beginning with Purcell’s opera Dido and
Aeneas on Tuesday 3 November, and concluding with Allegri Miserere: A Concert for Remembrance on Tuesday 10 November, the eve of Armistice Day, sung by our professional choral ensemble, St Martin’s Voices.

Our newest choir, St Martin’s Chorus, perform a selection of choral works for bonfire night on Thursday 5 November. We look forward to welcoming you to St Martin’s for this special festival
