Christopher Jones and Gemma Sharples Director/Violin

London Musical Arts Orchestra and Ensemble was formed in 1985, has been based at St Martin-in-the-Fields since 1992 and has appeared at major London venues and at festivals and tours abroad. Under its founder and Artistic Director, John Landor, the orchestra is dedicated to communicating the beauty of music through its ‘Mini Maestro’, ‘Meet the Music’ and ‘Music-in-Motion’ events.

Christopher Jones (violin) read music at McGill University and completed his Masters at the Royal Northern College of Music. Christopher’s solo appearances have included the Sibelius Concerto with the New Bristol Sinfonia, and Stravinsky and Paganini Concertos with the Sheffield Philharmonic Orchestra. He is first violin of the Gildas String Quartet.

Gemma Sharples (violin) studied at Christ Church, Oxford and the Royal Academy of Music. Her career embraces chamber music, teaching, session work and orchestral playing. She is a member of the Albany Piano Trio who were recent Junior Fellows at the Royal College of Music and winners of the Gwyneth George Award. She plays second violin in the Gildas Quartet.
