Vital Force draws upon a wide variety of styles and influences both from extraneous sources and from internal writing and improvisatory influences which culminates in their unique voice. The philosophy at the core of the band emanates from John Coltrane’s approach to improvisation through the utilisation of modern jazz as a vehicle for self-expression. The music heard, will be deeply rooted in spiritual expansion and self-expression, therefore you can expect energetic, intense, lively and emotional tones where the musicians will often go into a different internal realm to create music that is truly an expression of the self. No matter what piece of music is being played, be it a famous standard or a new composition, each piece will be approached with the same energy in an attempt to gain spiritual development within the musicians and audience.
