St Martin’s Voices and Chamber Ensemble present a richly emotional programme, including the reflective and rousing Five Mystical Songs by Vaughan Williams and a new work by Lucy Walker, together with Fauré’s inimitably beautiful and tender Requiem. First performed in Paris in 1888, the Requiem remains beloved today for its angelic melodies and gently consoling message of eternal rest.

Renowned composer Bob Chilcott conducts St Martin’s Voices in an inspiring performance of his Requiem, programmed here alongside Mozart’s moving choral masterpiece. Chilcott’s Requiem for choir, soprano and tenor soloists and chamber ensemble is an uplifting interpretation of the traditional Requiem text, balancing prayerful solemnity with bright hopefulness.
