St Martin’s Voices: Bach and Handel by Candlelight

Born the very same year, Bach and Handel were parallel masters of the Baroque era. This programme showcases their sparkling choral and instrumental works, together with songs by the Prussian princess Wilhelmine von Bayreuth and two motets by Mendelssohn – the leading German Romantic composer credited with reviving Bach’s works for nineteenth century audiences and rekindling their enduring fame.
