Hidden gem that I’d never visited before . Beautiful building. Food delicious . Staff were so friendly . The girl who did the ☕ spent time explaining how to do the patterns . How kind .
What a wonderful surprise.

Delicious soup and a quiet space amid the busyness

I stopped in for lunch after seeing an art exhibit at the nearby National Gallery. This cafe is in the crypt of the wonderful St. Martin in the Fields church.

The offering was very appealing–several salads, a hearty roast with vegetables, etc. I had a really delicious bowl of soup, served with bread, that really hit the spot on a cold day. Service was pleasant and the prices are very reasonable. It’s a nice place to sit for a bit before continuing your exploration of central London. And it’s great to support the good work of the congregation.

A hidden gem of historical significance, comforting cafe in the basement

Make the time to drop into this cultural and historic icon at Trafalgar Square. Free entry down stairs to the original crypt which has been turned into a comfortable, welcoming, cafe. Meal servings are generous in size and there are plenty of tables and chairs. Look around the crypt at the original, relocated, head stones and floor plaques too.
We popped in here twice as it’s so convenient, once for lunch and again for afternoon tea.
