Children’s ministry

Education St Martin – Children’s ministry - Learn and grow

Families, children, and youth are an integral part of life and worship at St Martin’s.  C-Club is our club for young children which takes place after the Sunday morning Eucharist. Baptism and Confirmation classes take place separately from March.

Learning by Praying and Doing

A living, worshipping community is one of the few places in modern society where people who are not related to each other can meet across generations and backgrounds. At St Martins, children, teenagers, and adults are valued participants week by week in our worship. Our young people contribute to worship at the 10.00am service on a regular basis by taking part in presentations, in readings, and as acolytes and junior stewards. By sharing their time and their talents, they learn more deeply about the Christian tradition, they encounter new ideas and perspectives, they get to know other people and God.

C-Club (our Children’s Club) meets each Sunday during term time immediately after the 10.00am service. We explore a different theme each week through intergenerational, interactive, and embodied forms of learning. Children and young people of all ages are welcome, as are adults if accompanied by a child! Visiting children are always welcome to join if accompanied by a responsible adult.

Baptism and Confirmation

Each year a course is provided for both young people and adults seeking to prepare for  Baptism and Confirmation or Confirmation (if baptised already).  The courses take place on Sunday mornings from 12.15-1.15 (after the Parish Eucharist) and usually begin in the March preparing for the Confirmation by the Bishop which usually takes place in May or June. All those who would like to be Baptised or Confirmed should let a member of the clergy team know. Registration takes place in January- February each year to begin in March.

More information about baptism is available on our Baptism and Marriage page.

St Martin’s works to encourage a safe environment for children and also for adults at risk (previously vulnerable adults) who visit, worship or are employed at St Martin-in-the-Fields. For full information on our Safeguarding policy, please see our Safeguarding page.
