The Carice Singers: Arvo Pärt 90th Birthday – A Prayer for Peace on 9/11
Thursday 11 September 2025
7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
A heartfelt 90th birthday tribute to Arvo Pärt in a concert focused on works inspired by peace, performed by The Carice Singers and friends.
Few living composers speak more widely – or more profoundly – than Arvo Pärt. His music is a byword for a spiritual depth that feels both ancient and unmistakably modern – creating sounds of radiant beauty in which (in the composer’s own words) “the instant and eternity are struggling within us”. Tonight, in celebration of his 90th birthday, The Carice Singers present an evening-long exploration of his best-loved music, both sacred and secular. Some: like Spiegel in Spiegel and Fratres, are modern classic. Others are less familiar. But they’ll all be performed with absolute commitment, in the timeless tranquillity of St Martin-in-the-Fields.
