God of hope, you call each one of us to walk in the steps of your son.
In Francis you showed us what it means to follow with humility, holiness and gentleness of heart.
Give him a place of belonging forever in the company of those for whom he gave his life.
Renew the Catholic church, and heal its many wounds.
Raise up a new leader who may inspire your world,seek peace, and uphold those society and church have oppressed.
Send your Spirit on all your people that we may act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with you.
