Claudia Jablonski (cello) and Rustam Khanmurzin (piano)
Friday 10 October 2025
1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Cellist Claudia Jablonski and pianist Rustam Khanmurzin present a lunchtime concert featuring a captivating programme that spans nearly a century of rich music. Written in 1915, Debussy’s Cello Sonata is concise yet rich in colour, blending elegance with playful and mysterious elements. Piazzolla: Le Grand Tango is a wonderfully fun piece with the fiery rhythms of Argentine tango matched with classical complexity. Prokofiev’s Cello Sonata, written in 1949, is lyrical, witty, and expressive. A flowing first movement, a playful scherzo, and a vibrant finale reflect both warmth and brilliance, despite the challenges of its time.
