Monteverdi Choir and the Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique: Mozart Requiem
Friday 19 September 2025
7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
The Monteverdi Choir performs Mozart’s Requiem: a performance by some of the finest living interpreters of his haunting final work.
Vienna, 1791 – a knock on the door, a masked stranger in a grey cloak, and a secret commission that even Mozart couldn’t afford to refuse. Everyone knows the myth behind Mozart’s Requiem, but no matter how much you enjoyed Amadeus, the piece itself is even more extraordinary – and few performers are better equipped to explore its mysteries than the Monteverdi Choir. Their classic recording was the top choice on BBC Radio 3’s Building a Library, and tonight, with the Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique, they return to the unforgettably poignant world of Mozart’s last – and most personal – masterpiece.
