Puccini Messa di Gloria by Candlelight
Friday 21 June 2024
7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Best known for the rich and soaring melodies of his verismo operas, Giacomo Puccini composed the ambitious Messa di Gloria as his graduation exercise in 1880. It is a sacred work, but filled with emotional impact, exuberance and dramatic contrasts that feel operatic in scope. The Choral Scholars of St Martin-in-the-Fields join forces with St Martin’s Voices and Chamber Ensemble, directed by Andrew Earis.
