St Martin’s Voices: Songs of Farewell
Tuesday 14 November 2023
7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Step into the beautiful surroundings of St Martin-in-the-Fields for an hour of choral music inspired by reflection and remembrance – including Parry’s Songs of Farewell.
In the week after Remembrance Sunday, a chance to step out of the city for an hour of music themed around reflection and remembrance from professional vocal ensemble St Martin’s Voices. Parry’s Songs of Farewell are one of the most poignant – and best-loved – of English choral masterpieces. But as part of our Choral Discovery Concerts series, this is also a chance to encounter new, unexpected, but equally beautiful sounds: such as the music of Annabel Rooney, and Libby Larsen’s deeply moving homage to Emily Dickinson, By a Departing Light. The sounds are novel, but the emotions are eternal.
