The English Concert: Bach for Heart & Soul
Thursday 17 October 2024
7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Souls fly free, hearts leap with wonder, and a German organist outwits the Devil. Anything’s possible in a Bach cantata: each one is both a gripping spiritual drama and a sumptuous banquet of the most glorious music ever to emerge from the human mind. But this is no ordinary human mind – it’s Johann Sebastian Bach, and today The English Concert and Kristian Bezuidenhout have assembled four of the liveliest vocalists on the current scene, each ready to give their all to this miraculous music. It all wraps up with Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No.4 – the sound of genius dancing for joy.
