On 5th April 1914 a bomb planted by the suffragettes, at the height of their campaign, exploded in St Martin-in-the-Fields. This week BBC Radio 4 Sunday Worship comes from St Martin’s, marking the 100th anniversary of the Representation of the People Act, which allowed some women to vote and to stand for election in Great Britain for the first time.
