Performers

Emily Andrews (flautist, singer) and David Massey (guitarist) met in 2009 at the Royal Academy of Music in London while playing in the orchestra for a musical, and have been playing together as a duo ever since alongside their flourishing solo careers.

As a duo they are going from strength to strength:  Their competition success includes being prestigious Tunnell Trust Award Winners 2012-2013, and three-times Semi-finalists in the Royal Overseas League competition. As recitalists they have performed concerts all over the UK, including the top London venues Wigmore Hall, St Martin in the Fields, and St James Piccadilly, as well as abroad in Italy, Sweden and Germany.

Emily and David play many different styles of music, and like to programme familiar favourites with lesser-known works. They have released three CDs together, “…from the Roots”, “Make Merry” and “Stolen Serenades”, all of their own arrangements of traditional repertoire from classical and folk worlds. As well as switching to alto flute or steel string guitar for some pieces, the duo are also increasingly including some vocal songs within their concerts, creating the uniquely diverse and varied recitals for which they are becoming known.
