At St Martin-in-the-Fields, we are proud of the voluntary choirs that are nurtured within our walls. Our Sunday liturgical music making is led by our Choir and the St Martin’s Chamber Choir perform at many of our choral concerts.

Voluntary Ensembles

The Choir of St Martin-in-the-Fields, our principal voluntary liturgical choir, joins with clergy and laity in leading our worship on Sundays and at significant festivals in the church year including Christmas, Holy Week and Easter. It strives to be amongst the leading voluntary church choirs in the UK, performing a wide range of sacred choral repertoire on a regular basis to a high standard. As well as its busy programme of church services, the Choir gives occasional concerts at St Martin’s and in recent years has toured to Paris and South Africa, as well as visiting UK cathedrals including Liverpool and Canterbury. Auditions take place throughout the year – for details of how to apply, please see below.

St Martin-in-the-Fields Chamber Choir is our voluntary concert choir of around 25 singers, who perform a wide range of repertoire in concert at St Martin-in-the-Fields and beyond. Recent performances include Mendelssohn Elijah, Brahms Requiem, Rachmaninov Vespers and Copland In the Beginning and the première of Will Todd’s Passion Music. Auditions take place throughout the year – for details of how to apply, please see below.
