The Carice Singers: A Prayer of Peace & Light
Friday 22 September 2023
7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
May eternal light shine…as the nights draw in, The Carice Singers present an evening of music that seems to glow from within. Ligeti’s stunning Lux Aeterna is a true classic (you might recognise it from 2001: A Space Odyssey), and a magnificent way to celebrate the composer’s centenary year. But it’s just part of a whole programme devoted to the life-giving power of light, from the shimmering sonic auroras of Rautavaara and Jonathan Harvey, through the sacred beauty of Byrd and Arvo Pärt to the very English radiance of Vaughan Williams. Hope, stillness, and sounds to light up the spirit.
