Friday 25 March 2022

7:00 PM

We welcome the Monteverdi Apprentices in a wonderful evening of outstanding classical chamber music in the stunning setting of our vaulted Crypt. The evening will feature a mixture ensemble showcase performances of varied repertoire performed by some of the best young professional string players from around the world. The event is designed to be relaxed and informal and you can relax and enjoy food and drinks in between a number of classical ‘sets’.

A programme of chamber music for strings from the Romantic era, and a culmination of a period of intensive workshops under the guidance of principals from John Eliot Gardiner’s Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique.

About Monteverdi Choir and Orchestras Apprentices

The Monteverdi Apprentices Programme is a training scheme for young musicians that seeks to bridge the gap between university or conservatoire education and the world of the professional musician.

Participants in this long-established artist development programme take part in projects ranging from workshops and masterclasses to paid performances with the Monteverdi ensembles. With the help of guidance from John Eliot Gardiner and a team of dedicated mentors, we hope to nurture and showcase the development of all our Apprentices by providing challenging and rewarding performance opportunities and exposing them to world-class coaching from experts in a range of fields.
