Crypt Lates: Jazz and Blues with Neal Richardson
Wednesday 24 May 2023
7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
An evening of Jazz and Blues with Neal Richardson and his band, combining exciting new music with classic swingers.
Pianist and singer/songwriter Neal Richardson’s new project, ‘The Maximalist’, features gutsy originals tackling themes from the sea, the environment, existential crises, love, loss and… and plenty of Blues.
All this and plenty more with modern twists on well-known standards and big swingers like Comes Love, This Masquerade and Alright With Me.
Presented in Neal’s infamous raconteur style and backed by a first class 7-piece band, prepare to be taken on a fantastic, jazz and blues journey.
“Jazz of the purest… a mere two numbers in and [the audience] were screaming and yelling. It was a gas and every one of the punters lapped it up.” Jazz Journal
“Neal Richardson has a great understanding of how to reel in the audience… one could sense them getting more involved and on his side”. London Jazz News
“Neal not only creates much of his own material… he makes the piano keys dance, sings and is a comedian. Andrea Hargreaves, Sept 2022
