Winner of the Special Prize for the best interpretation of Julian Cochran’s music at the 3rd International Cochran Piano Competition in 2017, Lukasz Filipczak is a Polish pianist based in London. As a soloist and chamber musician Lukasz has given concerts in England, Poland, France, Belgium, Spain, Germany and several other countries, performing at some the world’s most iconic venues, including Berliner Philharmonie, the Royal Festival Hall and Warsaw Philharmonic Hall.

Born in Poland, Lukasz moved to London in 2005 winning a scholarship to study piano with Caroline Palmer at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and later with Paul Roberts as well as Charles Owen. He graduated with Guildhall Artist Master Diploma in 2012. His many prizes include the Sydney Perry Award from the Philharmonia Orchestra and Martin Musical Scholarship Funds, Bronze Medal at the International Marlow Music Festival Concerto Competition, the Ivan Sutton Chamber Music Award. He was co-director of the acclaimed Devonia Concert Series and the Górecki Chamber Orchestra. Since 2013 he is a Pianist in Residence at the Studio Sienko Gallery in London.
