The programme will include a range of folk songs from the different regions of Georgia, illustrating themes of work, celebration and ritual.

Maspindzeli is a London-based choir devoted to singing the folk songs of the nation of Georgia. The group has extensively studied the regional singing styles of the country with Georgian teachers, and has regularly performed at the International Symposium on Traditional Polyphony in Tbilisi, Georgia.  They have performed live on BBC Radio 3 and 4, and have featured on Rustavi 2 and Imedi TV channels in Georgia.

The choir’s performances have been described as having “enormous panache” (Independent), being “wonderfully gritty” (The Guardian), “raw, gutsy and committed” (Orlando Gough), “bare, beautiful, and once heard, never forgotten” (Time Out).
