Passion and Resurrection
Saturday 11 November 2023
7:30 pm - 8:45 pm
Epiphoni presents a ravishing programme of choral classics from Poland: almost all from the 20th century, they recount the journey of Jesus. The opening Psalm (in English) reminds us that Jesus came from a Jewish background. There follows the angel’s visit to Mary, Jesus’ ministry, his suffering on the cross, and it ends with the proclamation of Jesus’ victory over death. Many of the composers have become well known, including some women composers, set in the dramatic space of St Martin’s.
