Peter Donohoe Piano

“He’s a lion of the keyboard but he’s also a poet” writes The Herald of pianist Peter Donohoe. “From Donohoe you will experience thunder and steel; but [also] exquisite lyricism and sensitivity”. This formidable British pianist has long been admired for his old-school virtuosity and the emotional conviction of his playing, but in recent seasons he’s been sharing insights gleaned from a lifetime devoted to music that’s greater than it can ever be played. Today he plunges deep into the Romantic imagination – from the enduring (and intoxicating) imaginative legacy of Chopin, to visionary late works by Beethoven and his disciple Brahms.
