Their lunchtime time recital features Stravinsky’s epic work The Rite of Spring which he arranged for piano duet. The astonishing piano writing ensures that nothing from the orchestral version is lost in this masterly feat of virtuosity. To open, the duo have chosen some of Brahms’ famous and exciting Hungarian Dances.

Performers
Monika Lozinskienė and Anna Szałucka form exciting piano duo Piano Phase Project, presenting fresh recitals and also specialising in musical installations in contemporary settings, giving the audience an insight into a new format of classical music concerts.
An active soloist and chamber musician, Anna Szałucka is an exciting Polish pianist recognized for her exceptional musicality, intense virtuosity and unique character of playing. The most important aspects of her work include cross-arts productions, education and finding new formats for classical music concerts. Since 2018, Anna has held the position of a piano teacher at The Royal Academy of Music. Szałucka was presented with the 1st Prize together with four Special Awards at the 3rd Tallinn International Piano Competition in Estonia. Her most recent album “The Hourglass” was released with October House Records, a recording exploring the piano legacy of Frank Bridge and French Impressionists.
Pianist Monika Lozinskienė’s honours include 1st prize winner at the Josep Mirabent I Migrans Chamber Music Competition (Spain), 1st prize at the Tonia and Tania Webster Competition (Scotland), where she was recognized for her performances of rarely played Russian piano repertoire, and commendations for her international musical achievements from Lithuanian Presidents V. Adamkus and D. Grybauskaitė. As a chamber musician, Monika has performed at the Inverness Town Hall, Newbury Spring Festival, Edinburgh Fridge Festival, The Prince Charles Dumfries House and at the historic Al Raco de la Calma (Spain). Monika completed both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS). In 2018, Monika founded and directs the “Kaunas Piano Fest,” a piano festival and series of masterclasses in Lithuania.
