Monday 24 January 2022

6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Historians and hosts of the hugely popular podcast The Rest is History, Tom Holland and Dominic Sandbrook have invited a few of their friends along to tell you EVERYTHING, from the Big Bang right up to 2022.

In an hour-long show, Tom and Dominic welcome experts in their field to give you the low-down in double quick time. Contributing their expertise will be the world’s leading stegosaur specialist Dr Susie Maidment; world-renowned novelist Sebastian Faulks CBE; historian and broadcaster Michael Wood OBE; director of the Friends of Friendless Churches Dr Rachel Morley; historian, TV presenter and podcaster supreme Dan Snow MBE; historian and chief curator of the Historic Royal Palaces Tracy Borman; hosts of the We Have Ways of Making You podcast, historian James Holland and Al Murray, aka the Pub Landlord; and geneticist Dr Adam Rutherford, host with Dr Hannah Fry of the Curious Cases of Fry and Rutherford podcast.

This stellar line-up will take you on a whistle-stop tour through time and space, from tyrannosaurs to the Tudors, from the Sphinx to the Suffragettes, from Babylon to the Beatles, from the pre-Cambrian to the present day.

If you cannot attend on the day, we will be streaming the event live on 24 January at 18.30, all the way up until 28 February, so you can watch at your leisure – click here to book your ticket!

The evening will be in aid of three massively deserving charities and the evening represents the last and crowning event of an entire year of fund-raising by Tom and the cricket team for which he plays, the Authors XI. Click here to find out more about the three nominated charities.
