Trusting the Gods

Neil MacGregor is an art historian, museum director, presenter and author. He was Director of the National Gallery, London from 1987-2002, before becoming the Director of the British Museum from 2002-2015. In 2015, he became founding Director of the Humboldt Forum in Berlin. His books include Seeing Salvation: A History of the World in 100 Objects; Shakespeare’s Restless World; Germany: Memories of a Nation and Living with the Gods. In 2018, the radio series Living with the Gods received the Sandford St Martin Award for Religious Broadcasting. ‘For Neil MacGregor, the purpose has always been to make a space where people rethink their place in the world and rediscover, richly, just what it means to be human’ (Simon Schama).
