Brahms Requiem by Candlelight

“Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted.” A choral masterpiece designed to comfort the living, Brahms’s A German Requiem, in a chamber arrangement by Iain Farrington, is brought to life by both the Choir and Chamber Choir of St Martin-in-the-Fields.
Please note this performance will last for approximately 1 hour 15 minutes without an interval.

The English Baroque Soloists with Peter Whelan [and renowned cellist X] mark this milestone with a programme of music written and first performed within a stone’s throw of this wondrous building, by the “Father of the Symphony”, Franz Joseph Haydn and his contemporary Johann Christian Bach.
