Join us for an uplifting lunchtime concert as the Grewal Twins, accompanied by the talented Junaid Ali on tabla, bring the soulful sounds of Punjabi folk and Sufi music to Trafalgar Square. This unique performance promises a spiritual journey through the rich devotional traditions of Punjab, with songs that celebrate love, devotion, and mysticism.
Audiences can expect an emotionally charged performance where the Grewal Twins’ powerful voices intertwine, creating harmonies that resonate with both joy and depth. Their repertoire will include traditional Punjabi folk songs and Sufi compositions, each evoking a timeless connection to the divine. Sung in Punjabi, these songs carry universal themes of love, surrender, and spiritual longing, bridging cultural divides and touching hearts. Junaid’s tabla accompaniment adds rhythmic intricacy and grounding, enhancing the energy of each piece and creating a vibrant interplay between melody and rhythm.
This concert is curated by Darbar Arts Culture Heritage Trust, producers of the Darbar Festival.
