Darbar: Kirpal Panesar and Junaid Ali (esraj and tabla)
Friday 25 July 2025
1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Unfortunately the Grewal Twins are no longer able to perform at the concert. However, we are pleased to welcome Kirpal Panesar, who has kindly stepped in to take their place.
Join us for a captivating lunchtime concert as Kirpal Panesar brings the evocative sounds of the Esraj to life, accompanied by the masterful Junaid Ali on tabla. Set against the iconic backdrop of Trafalgar Square, this unique performance offers a meditative musical journey through the rich devotional traditions of Indian classical music.
Kirpal’s expressive Esraj melodies, paired with Junaid’s intricate and grounding tabla rhythms, create a dynamic dialogue between sound and spirit—an hour where time seems to pause and every note resonates with meaning.
This concert is curated by Darbar Arts Culture Heritage Trust, producers of the Darbar Festival.
