I Fagiolini: Monteverdi Vespers
Friday 26 September 2025
7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Picture the glittering interior of St Mark’s, Venice; ringing and aglow with majestic sacred music. To hear Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610 performed live is to travel in time, and to experience some of the greatest choral music of any era – a ritual charged with all the splendour and pageantry of Venice at the height of its golden age. To do it justice demands a certain flair for theatre, and that’s exactly what you can expect in this concert, with the virtuoso vocal ensemble I Fagiolini. Music to ravish both heart and soul, performed by some of its leading modern exponents.
