La Serenissima: Crossing Borders

Experience an evening of vivacious music by Vivaldi and his 18th-century contemporaries, performed by the acclaimed ensemble La Serenissima under the direction of Adrian Chandler.
Presenting a selection of works that highlight the rich musical landscape of the period, the performance begins with Brescianello Ouverture-Suite in F major, a piece that offers a glimpse into the sophisticated court music of the time. The concert continues with a series of celebrated concertos by Vivaldi, including the expressive ‘Paris’ Concerto No. 6 in G minor as well as his Concerto in B flat major and Concerto in G minor, showcasing Vivaldi’s renowned skill for melody and dramatic flair.
The concert comes to a fitting close with Telemann’s Ouverture-Suite in A minor, celebrated for its graceful melodies and varied movements.
Led by Adrian Chandler, La Serenissima is renowned for their insight into the historical and technical understanding Baroque music. This is an opportunity to enjoy the refined beauty of Baroque music in the hands of masterful performers.
