Nikita Lukinov piano

Nikita Lukinov is one of the most exciting Scotland-based concert pianists acclaimed for his “extraordinary breadth and freedom of imagination” (Gramophone) and named a “Rising Star” by BBC Music Magazine. He has performed as a soloist in major venues across the UK, Europe, and Russia, including London’s Wigmore Hall, Southbank Centre,

Bechstein Hall, and Steinway Hall; Edinburgh’s Usher Hall and St Giles’ Cathedral;

Barcelona’s Palau de la Música; the Verbier Festival; Fazioli Hall in Italy; and the Tchaikovsky Conservatoire in Moscow. His numerous live and studio performances have been broadcast on BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio Scotland, and Scala Radio.

In 2025/26 season Nikita gives performances throughout the UK and embarks on a performing and teaching tour of China in November. In June 2025 he was awarded 3rd Prize at the Málaga International Piano Competition.

One of the milestones in his career came during the 2024/25 season, when he completed a 40-concert tour across Scotland, from the Borders to the Orkney Islands. The tour, supported by City Music Foundation, included appearances at venues such as the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Inverness Town Hall, Perth Concert Hall, and the St Magnus Festival. Alongside recital work, he led outreach events in care homes and special education schools, affirming his commitment to inclusive musical engagement.

Originally from Russia, Nikita received full scholarships to study at The Purcell School and later at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where he completed his Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Artist Diploma degrees with distinction. Since 2021, he has served as a piano lecturer at the RCS, becoming the youngest senior faculty member across the UK’s Royal Schools of Music. His debut CD “Kaleidoscope” featuring lesser known works by Tchaikovsky, Scriabin and Prokofiev was released by KNS Classical in 2023.

Nikita had masterclasses with leading pianists including Sir András Schiff, Sir Stephen Hough, Steven Osbrone, Kirill Gerstein, Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, Dang Thai Son and many others. He is also a passionate artist with Live Music Now Scotland, bringing world-class performance to communities often excluded from the concert halls.
