This programme weaves together traditional folk melodies, timeless classics, and contemporary compositions that reflect the spirit of England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland. From Henry Purcell’s ethereal Fairest Isle to the heartfelt laments of My True Love is Parted from Me and the vibrant energy of The Gallant Weaver, each piece invites listeners to explore stories of love, loss, and celebration. With arrangements and original works spanning centuries, this concert offers a vivid soundscape that honours the enduring musical traditions and evolving voices of the Isles.
Part of the Choral Discovery Concerts series, which invites audiences to discover lesser known, thought-provoking choral music in short concerts with St Martin’s Voices.
